So it seems that the only options i have at the moment is to use the long lens and the DSLR…. Maybe one day i will be able to get the telescope out again – thats if the weather ever lets up. So this shot is 180 30 second exposures taken with a 6D on a iEQ30Pro with a Sigma 150-600 @ 400mm and f5.6 The data was processed in Pixinsight with automatic processing.
So its been a really painful winter period. The cloud has been terrible and the skies just ….. After all of the winter i have managed to put together my final wide field for Orion and after processing it looks I have finally pulled out the Barnards loop. Hopefully its time to get the scope out and start on the galaxies which are high in the sky at the moment.
So with so few nights in the last few months its been desperation time to get out 🙂 The last time out decided to hit the witch head nebulae. This is a diffuse region to the west of Rigel . Also known as NGC 1909 this is a reasonable size and a DSLR is likely the best option to catch it. Also the image which was a series of 3 min exposures will need more data likely step up to 5 mins and maybe increase ISO this was shot at ISO 800…..
